Obviously the only solution is to barge in, put your feet up on the table, and grill them on whether or not they're taking good care of the place. Only the best for my home!

I wonder what they do with our stuff when we get sent back home. I mean, it vanishes, right? Maybe they have massive bazaar sales with all our things.

Ahh, sorry, sorry. [Guy pats Zack sympathetically on the back.] Look, apparently the Malnosso have really been working on their PR. Why not just ask them for your swords back? They might still have them, and might be willing to return them as a gesture of good will.
...Not sure I'd bet much gil on getting anything out of them, although some people have said they're a lot nicer than they used to be. Did you know they don't even call themselves that now?
